A couple in this Berlage block needed home care, so a bedroom and bathroom had to move to the ground floor. The existing layout did not offer enough space.
We designed an 18 m² extension containing both rooms. The protected townscape required brickwork matching the original façade and slim frames aligned with the existing rhythm. We managed the environmental permit, municipality and owners’ association process.
Structure, services, walk-in shower, bespoke storage and painting were delivered under one programme. Six weeks later the home was usable down to the last fitting, allowing the residents to remain in the neighbourhood where they had lived for thirty years.
